Our Construction department can support young learners with qualification opportunities that meet individual needs, interests and aspirations. Learners are equipped with skills that will develop their progress into further education, training or employment. All qualifications offered provide the opportunity to study both theory and practical aspects of a range of industry skills to develop interests into a career in the construction industry.
PEARSON BTEC LEVEL (1) EXTENDED CERTIFICATE IN CONSTRUCTION (VRQ)
These qualifications have been designed to help learners understand aspects of the construction industry and the skills required to work successfully in the industry.
This course prepares students with practical skills and knowlege for entry into the construction industry. The course covers carpentry and joinery, brick laying, painting and decorating. Students complete practical tasks for each module along with theory notes related to each skill area.
BTEC LEVEL (2) FIRST CERTIFICATE IN CONSTRUCTION AND THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT (QCF)
The qualification prepares learners for an apprenticeship, employment or further study in this vocational sector and are suitable for those who have decided that they wish to enter this particular area of work.
